Escarole Lettuce
About Escarole Lettuce
Escarole is a leafy green vegetable with broad, curly leaves. It is often used in salads and is cultivated in various regions.
Escarole lettuce provides vitamins A and K, dietary fiber, and folate. It is low in calories and adds a mild bitterness to salads. Escarole is safe to eat when properly washed ( please be mindful of your results as these may indicate you should not consume them due to a sensitivity). However, some people may find its slightly bitter taste less appealing than other lettuce varieties.
Escarole is commonly used in salads but can also be sautéed or added to soups and stews for extra flavor and nutrition.
